Bird Walk at Glover Archbold Park

Thank you for making our outdoor experiences one of the most popular outings in the DMV!All of our bird walks and trips are FREE and open to the public, except where noted to cover associated programming costs. Your generous support plays a crucial role in sustaining our programming, which includes our world-class guides. If you have binoculars, please bring them along, and we do have a limited number of spare binoculars available for use. Space can be limited, so registration is mandatory to ensure that everyone has a joyous experience in nature. See you outside!

Join us for a bird walk at a getaway in the middle of everything!Glover Archbold Park is a gorgeous 183-acre park with a trail that connects to the C&amp;O Towpath.Know before you go ... please review the info below for more details about this event.See you outside!Please do not bring unregistered guests. It is unfair to your fellow birders on the waitlist and unfair to our volunteer guides. If you are on the Waitlist and have not received an email that a space has opened, unfortunately we're at capacity and can't add more to our flock for this walk.CANCELLATION: The walk will proceed in rain (best time to bird!), but will be cancelled in the event of heavy downpours or thunderstorm; cancellation will be emailed at least 2 hours before meeting time. So please check before you head out.WHAT TO BRING / PARK INFO:<ul><li>Sunscreen / Sun Protection</li><li>Insect Repellant</li><li>Comfortable footwear to walk or hike. The trail can be pretty uneven at times, and has some steps. At one point there is also a very small/shallow stream that sometimes requires stone-stepping to cross if the water is flowing.</li><li>Water and snacks</li><li>If you have binoculars, please bring them.</li></ul>On-street parking is available nearby on 39th Street Northwest and elsewhere within and nearby the McLean Gardens community.
