College of Marin Jazz Ensemble
Get ready to groove with the College of Marin Jazz Ensemble live in concert, bringing you the smooth sounds of jazz right to your ears!
Come out and enjoy an eclectic evening of traditional and new wild big band jazz music, as the COM Jazz Ensemble performs some engaging mid-century and more recent jazz compositions. On the list includes a couple of very classic jazz swing pieces made popular by Count Basie, including a collaboration with the College of Marin Dance Department, wildly choreographed by Professor David Jones. Audiences will enjoy another jazz fusion piece by Kris Berg, and maybe even a new piece by Jacob Mann. The program will include the cool piece - Allégresse by Maria Schneider with highly textured orchestrations evoking visual imagery and musical colors. To top it all, our fabulous North Bay Vocal Sextet will perform a wonderful Glenn Miller arrangement, originally performed by the Modernaires!
