GBP is a network of professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners.  Our goal is to increase communication, collaboration and networking among professionals.  We aim to do this by hosting regular networking events, seminars, workshops and cultural events.  Our vision is to unite individuals of all races, cultures, socio-economic status and professions.  We support an atmosphere of diversity and believe that true economic development must support our similarities and embrace our difference.GBP reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by GBP, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. GBP may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by GBP including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent or legal guardianA person attending a GBP event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should contact GBP at PO Box 140371, Gainesville, FL 32614, in writing of his/her intentions and include a photograph. GBP will use the photo for identification purposes and will hold it in confidence.

Thank you for registering for the 2022 Leadership Conference and Expo.  In person registration will begin at 8:30am.  Information and login details for virtual attendance will come through email the week of the event.

The Gainesville Black Professionals&#x27; Leadership Conference is an annual event presented in partnership with Santa Fe College. The conference is designed to encourage, support, inspire and equip professionals to reach for leadership positions in their chosen industries.  Leaders will leave this conference with the inspiration, motivation and the tools to take their career to the next level.This year&#x27;s theme is Dismantling Racism...One &#x27;Ism at a Time. Speakers will challenge Racism from the concept that all &#x27;Isms are detrimental to the individual on the receiving end of the discrimination. This conference will:<ul><li>Reveal and discuss the parallels and similarities of various &#x27;Isms</li><li>Help individuals identify their own behaviors that actively and passively support &#x27;Isms</li><li>Provide strategies to minimize these behaviors</li><li>Demonstrate how the system of Racism can be systematically dismantled by individuals</li><li>Provide tools to begin this work in your network, organizations and businesses </li></ul>We know that racism is a system, but the system is made up of individuals. We believe that if individuals are aware of how their behaviors support the system of Racism, they will change their behavior. The consistent change of behaviors over time will lead to the ultimate dismantling of Racism...One &#x27;Ism at a Time. Some of the &#x27;Isms we will explore are:<ul><li>Colorism</li><li>Sexism</li><li>Ageism</li><li>Classism</li><li>Ableism</li><li>Genderism</li></ul>WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?This conference will provide the opportunity for you to network and connect with like-minded professionals.  It is a platform for you to exchange views and information, while taking away valuable leadership skills, strategies and new insights.
