The Gainesville Black Professionals' Leadership Conference is an annual event presented in partnership with Santa Fe College. The conference is designed to encourage, support, inspire and equip professionals to reach for leadership positions in their chosen industries. Leaders will leave this conference with the inspiration, motivation and the tools to take their career to the next level. This year's theme is Dismantling Racism...One 'Ism at a Time. Speakers will challenge Racism from the concept that all 'Isms are detrimental to the individual on the receiving end of the discrimination. This conference will:

Reveal and discuss the parallels and similarities of various 'Isms

Help individuals identify their own behaviors that actively and passively support 'Isms

Provide strategies to minimize these behaviors

Demonstrate how the system of Racism can be systematically dismantled by individuals

Provide tools to begin this work in your network, organizations and businesses

We know that racism is a system, but the system is made up of individuals. We believe that if individuals are aware of how their behaviors support the system of Racism, they will change their behavior. The consistent change of behaviors over time will lead to the ultimate dismantling of Racism...One 'Ism at a Time. Some of the 'Isms we will explore are:

Colorism

Sexism

Ageism

Classism

Ableism

Genderism

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?This conference will provide the opportunity for you to network and connect with like-minded professionals. It is a platform for you to exchange views and information, while taking away valuable leadership skills, strategies and new insights. You will leave with the skills and strategies needed to make a difference and to begin the dismantling of Racism and other 'Isms in your personal and professional spaces.WHY SHOULD MY STAFF ATTEND?This is an opportunity for your staff to grow professionally, make new connections and expose your brand to new audiences. Employers who make professional development a priority find that their employees have increased motivation, are more engaged and seek to find solutions.Contact: (352) 208-4894Registration opens at 8:30amVisit GainesvilleBlackProfessionals.com for more information.
