Workshop InformationDates: August 28 &amp; 29Time: 1-4 PMLocation: Five Points Arts Center Print LabInstructor: Krista NarcisoAges: 18+Workshop DescriptionParticipants of this two-day workshop will learn the basics of Western hand papermaking, as well as monotype printmaking techniques to print on their own paper. Day one will be held outside and consist of a papermaking demonstration followed by hands-on sheet forming with guidance from the instructor. We will press and dry the handmade paper overnight, then head to the Print Lab for day two, where participants will learn how to use various monoprinting techniques for image making on their paper. Required MaterialsMaterials will be provided, however, participants are encouraged to bring or wear water-resistant clothing and shoes for day one of the workshop – rain boots, raincoats, and/or waterproof aprons encouraged!NOTE: Workshop will be capped at 10 participants.Instructor BioKrista Narciso works across the media of printmaking, drawing, book arts, and installation to create artists’ books and installation work as a means of exploring spaces that are both immersive and impenetrable, as a meditation on place, landscape, movement, and lineage. Narciso is a recipient of the Iowa Arts Fellowship and completed her MFA in Book Arts at the University of Iowa Center for the Book in 2020, where she studied papermaking under Timothy Barrett. She also holds a Certificate in College Teaching in Arts &amp; Humanities from the University of Iowa and a BFA in Printmaking from the Hartford Art School. Her artists’ books and print work are held in Special Collections Libraries at the University of Utah and Baylor University, as well as private collections in the United States and abroad.
