Workshop InformationDates: August 24 &amp; 26Time: 1-4 PMLocation: Five Points Arts Center Painting LabInstructor: Brandon BrownleeAges: 18+Workshop DescriptionThis two-day workshop will guide students through constructing a drawing of the human figure through the use of a both linear and tonal approaches. The workshop will be broken into two sections. Day one will have a short demo on blocking in the figure using line and tone, followed by students executing shorter poses to prepare for the long pose on day two.Required Materials<ul><li>Strathmore 18x24 400 series drawing pad (brown covered pad)</li><li>Assorted pencils – 2H, H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B </li><li>Suggested (low wax content for toning) – Blackwing 602, Blackwing Pearl</li><li>Kneaded eraser</li><li>Chamois (optional) – can also use piece of old t-shirt</li></ul>NOTE: Workshop will be capped at 10 participants.Instructor BioBrandon Brownlee is an artist living and working in Hartford, Connecticut. He completed an MFA in painting at New York Academy of Art, where he studied figure drawing under Michael Grimaldi and advanced artistic anatomy at Drexel University College of Medicine. He also holds a BFA in Illustration from the Hartford Art School and an AFA in Visual Fine Art from Manchester Community College. Brownlee’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is held in private collections in the United States.
