Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. We are a citizen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting clean water for the sake of public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat throughout our patrol area, the Black Warrior River watershed.

Black Warrior Riverkeeper is teaming up with UA's Phi Gamma Delta to clean up part of our watershed!

Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard

Join us for a day of service on Sunday, September 7th, 2025.We will be cleaning up along Martin Luther King Jr Blvd (From Joe Mallisham Pkwy to Culver Road). We will meet and park at the Joe Mallisham Pkwy / MLK Jr Blvd intersection. What we encourage volunteers to wear/bring:1. Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty (preferably long pants)2. Closed-toed shoes3. Water4. Sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen)What we will provide:1. Garbage bags2. Gloves &amp; Litter Pickers
