Soapbox Gallery is dedicated to presenting music, performance and works of art that engage the issues of our time.The room itself is a beautiful, meditative environment that was designed with state-of-the art acoustics to showcase exceptional musicianship from around the world.The gallery was founded on the premise that art and culture are powerful reminders of our shared humanity, which can help to shape identity and promote social evolution.Soapbox was inspired by the idea that a simple, humble box–that one stands on and delivers a speech from–can start a movement and perhaps even help to change the world.It’s our mission to create space for civil conversation between those with differing views. The intent of our programming is to create a dialogue where everyone has a seat at the table.

She has sung at music venues such as Jazz Standard, Smalls, Rockwood Music Hall, 55 Bar, National Sawdust and the Carson Center for the Performing Arts in Paducah, Ky. She is a former member of the Grammy Award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and Singers, having traveled throughout America, Canada, Japan, Uruguay and Bermuda with these ensembles, as well as singing at President Obama’s 2013 Inauguration. She has also performed with Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band and regularly sings with pianist Jon Cowherd.Jon Cowherd, pianoAlthough Mercy is Jon Cowherd's first album under his own name, the esteemed pianist/composer/arranger/producer is already firmly established as one of the jazz world's most accomplished, expressive and in-demand young musicians.The Kentucky-raised, New Orleans-schooled, New York-based Cowherd is best known for his long-running partnership with drummer/bandleader Brian Blade, with whom he co-founded the Brian Blade Fellowship, whose acclaimed, influential albums showcase Cowherd's stellar keyboard work and singular compositional skills. When not recording and touring with the Fellowship, Cowherd has worked extensively with a broad array of players and singers from the jazz, pop and rock worlds.Source:: http://www.annecowherd.com
