The Chazen Museum of Art works to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit works of art and present related educational programs in support of the teaching, research, and public service mission of theUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison.We do this because the visual arts enrich individual human experience and because knowledge of art is essential to understanding diverse cultures, past and present.

Art History Centennial Open HouseIn celebration of the Department of Art History’s 100th anniversary, join faculty, staff, students, and alumni from the department for informal conversations on art. Members from the Department’s community will be stationed across the Chazen Museum of Art, Elvehjem building, and School of Human Ecology to engage visitors in close looking, curiosity, and the richness of arts’ multilayered histories.&nbsp; This program is one in a series of events celebrating the Department of Art History’s Centennial. Where at the museum is this event?This event will take place across the Chazen's collection galleries as well as in select locations in the Elvehjem building and School of Human Ecology.
