Have you been thinking about buying a home, but do not know where to start? Do you have questions about qualifying for a loan or available down payment assistance programs to help you make the home purchase? Would you like to learn how to improve your credit score so qualifying for loan is possible?

Then join us for this Homebuyer's Education Seminar that will walk you step-by-step through the home-buying process and help you purchase a home of your own.

In this seminar, you will learn about:

  • Improving your credit and score
  • Downpayment assistant programs available and how to qualify
  • How to qualify for and obtain a mortgage loan
  • How to find a home that meets your goals and family needs
  • Who your home-buying professional team is and how to hire them
  • How to complete and negotiate your home purchase contract
  • What is included in a professional home inspection
  • Homeowner's insurance options and what to select in a policy
  • Closing on the home and what is included in the process

As an added benefit, each registered participant will receive a certificate of completion. PLEASE NOTE-YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A SHORT COUNSELING SESSION (IN PERSON OR OVER THE PHONE) AFTER COMPLETION OF THE SEMINAR TO RECEIVE YOUR CERTIFICATE. Please call 352-380-9119 x 100 to schedule your appointment during business hours. Appointment times range from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday or 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday. Most lenders and Down Payment Assistance Programs require proof of attending a homebuyer's education seminar and this fulfills that requirement. To get a certificate, YOU MUST ATTEND ALL DAY.

The seminar starts at 8:00 am and ends promptly at 4:30 pm. The course fee is $50 for individual and $56 for couples which includes lunch. No children under 18 are allowed to attend.

**$50 is fully refundable ONLY when you close on a home and provide NHDC with a copy of your closing disclosure. Refunds for any other reason will not be provided.**

You will need to complete the HBE Intake packet which will be emailed to you from DocuSign via Russ Hirshik. You can also print one from our website: www.gnhdc.org; programs and services; home buyer education. If you would like one mailed to you, please contact the office.
