The Entrepreneur Training Program (ETP) is a 24-hour business start-up course for entrepreneurs that want to start a new business, but are not sure where to begin. It is an indispensable part of any entrepreneurial endeavor as it allows one to “make mistakes on paper” rather than in the real world. Participants will be working on your business plan and will be expected to complete a rough draft of the business plan at the end of the 10 sessions. It is like completing a miniature MBA program. Each session is taught by an industry expert with many years of experience.Participants can also take full advantage of our free business consulting services to help them review their business plan, obtain the proper licenses and permits, website design, apply for start-up business loans, etc.Topics include: Entrepreneurial Keys to Success; Introduction to Business Plan writing: Defining Mission and Setting Goals; Marketing Analysis: Customers, Competition &amp; Industry, the 4Ps; Small Business Taxes with the IRS and EDD; Budgeting and Cash Flow Management; Legal Aspects – Choice of Entity, Contracts, Licensing &amp; Permit; Protecting Your Business Assets: Intellectual Property, and so much more.Payment Details:<ul><li>Upon 100% attendance of the class, you will receive a reimbursement of $150.</li><li>You are responsible for paying the non-refundable ticket fee charged by Eventbrite.</li><li>The payment method is online (credit card). (SAT., Jan. 10) This is the first course of a 10 session certification series called Basic Business Training 101. This is an introductory discussion about entrepreneurial keys to success.

Session 1: Entrepreneurial Keys to Success 

(SAT., Jan. 10) This session will provide an overview of how to start a business in the city of Los Angeles. Critical steps in launching a company will be covered, such as obtaining business licenses and permits, such as writing a business plan, marketing, and preparing financial statements.

Session 2: Intro to Business Plan: Defining Mission and Setting Goals 

(SAT., Jan. 17) This session will provide a basic overview of marketing for small business owners who are looking to reach a broader customer base and expand their markets. The course covers how to conduct market research and develop marketing strategies to identify your target customers and understand the market competition as well as provide marketing resources for small business owners.

Session 3: Marketing Analysis: Customers, Competition & Industry 

(SAT., Jan. 17) This session will discuss the "4P" aspects of your business, your audience, and your competitive market.

Session 4: Marketing: Product/Services, Price, Place, Promotion 

(SAT., Jan. 24) This session will discuss small business taxes and the Employment Development Department (EDD).

Session 5: Small Business Taxes (IRS, EDD)

(SAT., Jan. 24) This session will discuss small business record keeping and accounting basics.

Session 6: Managing Your Money: Recordkeeping/Accounting 

(SAT, Jan. 31) This session will discuss small business budgeting, cash flow management, and projections.

Session 7: Budgeting and Cash Flow Management Cash Flow Projections

(SAT, Jan. 31) This session will discuss protecting your business assets: small business legal entities, contracts, licensing, and permits.

Session 8: Legal Aspects – Choice of Entity / Contracts / Licensing & Permit 

(SAT, Feb. 7) This session will discuss protecting Your Business Assets: Intellectual Property, Insurance & Risk Management.

Session 9: Protecting Your Business Assets

(SAT, Feb. 7) This session will discuss various low-interest financing options including disaster business loan programs and grant opportunities for your business.

Session 10: Access to Capital: Financing Your Business
