Please join us in celebrating our first opening reception. Refreshments and ample conversation will be provided. During shelter in place this past year, Marilynn Host, like many of us, started to reflect and revisit possessions with which we choose to surround ourselves. Discovering brooches, ribbons, bits of lace, and an assortment of &quot;stuff&quot; that belonged to family members, or was in her own collections, Marilynn decided to honor these possessions by making them center stage in her creative experimentation and play. Giving them a place of honor. Parasols serve the purpose of sheltering us from the sun; but more importantly, they are strong, beautiful, quirky and ephemeral--a symbolic barrier between earth and sky. They protect us. But, they are also larger and more flamboyant, and certainly more whimsical than the masks we have been wearing.
