sf.citi welcomes you to join us for Bridging the Divide: The Road to a Digital-First SF. In this important and timely virtual conversation, we&#x27;ll hear from a cross-sector group of leaders discuss how the digital divide is affecting communities and highlight the initiatives and solutions being implemented to advance digital equity.

Despite being the world’s tech capital, San Francisco has historically struggled with providing equal and reliable access to digital services, tools, and skills to all of its residents. But San Francisco isn’t alone in this struggle. For years, the digital divide has been a prominent issue impacting numerous communities—both young and old—from actively participating in today’s digital world. Then when the pandemic happened, it highlighted and completely exacerbated the problems of the digital divide, largely around connectivity. The transition to a digital-first way of life brought the deep inequities of the digital divide right to the forefront of the general public.As tech becomes more and more essential in our everyday lives, we’ll explore why cities like San Francisco need to act fast in bridging the digital divide, or else, face getting left behind. We’ll also discuss how government, business, and community leaders can capitalize on addressing this pivotal issue as we emerge from the pandemic.
