Vegetation Removal - Meet at Four Mile Run and MVT Intersection

The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail works to maintain and improve the Mount Vernon Trail and promote its safe use.

Volunteers will remove overgrown vegetation from the intersection of the Mount Vernon Trail and Four Mile Run Trail to prevent crashes.

Meet on the trail at the intersection of the Mount Vernon Trail and Four Mile Run Trail.Volunteers will remove vegetation near the trail that is blocking the sight line for people at the junction of the Mount Vernon Trail and Four Mile Run Trail. This area has been identified as a high crash area due to poor sightlines combined with multiple turning movements. Work will consist of:<ul><li>Using pruners to remove bushes</li><li>Using bow saws to remove small trees</li><li>Trimming overhead branches</li><li>Carrying and stacking cut vegetation</li></ul>No special skills are needed. We'll teach you how to help in just a few minutes.What to Bring:<ol><li>Work Gloves if you have them (We will have several to borrow)</li><li>Pruners or limb loppers if you have them (We will have several to borrow)</li><li>Sunscreen</li><li>Water to drink</li><li>A face covering</li></ol>Getting there: Meet on the trail at the intersection of the Mount Vernon Trail and Four Mile Run Trail.
