Invasive Vegetation Management - Meet at Mount Vernon LDS Chapel

The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail works to maintain and improve the Mount Vernon Trail and promote its safe use.

Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail

Volunteers will remove invasive vegetation near the trail that blocks views and kills trees.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

We will meet at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints parking lot and then walk over to the work site. The church is located off of Lucia Lane. This event is open to everyone but is being conducted in partnership with the LDS Earth Stewardship East group.Volunteers will remove invasive vegetation near the trail. This vegetation damages trees, block views and creates trail hazards. Work will consist of:<ul><li>Using pruners to remove vines and brush</li><li>Bagging vegetation</li><li>Picking up and bagging trash</li></ul>No special skills are needed. We'll teach you how to help in just a few minutes.What to Bring:<ol><li>Work Gloves if you have them (We will have several to borrow)</li><li>Pruners or limb loppers if you have them (We will have several to borrow)</li><li>Sunscreen</li><li>Water to drink</li><li>A face covering</li></ol>Getting there: We will meet at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot and then walk over to the work site.
