Founded in 2009, StartOut, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the largest national organization to support LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs with over 25K community members nationwide. Its mission is to accelerate the growth of the LGBTQ+ community to drive its economic empowerment, building a world where every LGBTQ+ entrepreneur has equal access to lead, succeed, and shape the workforce of the future. StartOut helps aspiring LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs start new companies; supports current entrepreneurs as they grow and expand their existing businesses; and engages successful entrepreneurs as role models and mentors, on its online portal and through targeted events nationwide.For more information, please visitwww.startout.org.

How often do you take the time to invest in yourself, especially if you&#x27;re consistently labeled as &quot;underrepresented&quot;? StartOut welcomes BIPOC LGBTQ+ founders and allies to connect in a space designed to uplift diverse identities. This networking and professional development event is to represent the underrepresented entrepreneurs out there; particularly those that are Black, Indigenous, Latinx, AAPI, people of color and our allies/supporters. Breakout rooms with discussion moderators will lead safe-space conversations for how to keep the entrepreneurial spirit alive, challenges people of color experience while fundraising, leading/building an authentically diverse team, and how to activate your allyship to diverse founders.

Tiffany Barillas, Head of Business Development at Welcome TechnologiesGroup ModeratorTiffany Barillas is Head of Business Development at Welcome Technologies, a fintech start-up focused on serving the immigrant community. She has extensive experience on Wall Street in various roles across asset management and investment banking, working at Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan. She has also served on several boards of non-profits focused on diversity efforts in finance and technology. As a first-generation Latina and daughter of immigrants, she looks forward to being able to bring immediate impact through fintech.

Tony Moraga, Vice President, Manager of Social Impact &amp; Diversity - BBVAGroup ModeratorAs the Manager of Social Impact and Diversity for BBVA USA, Tony leads the bank’s portfolio of social impact programs aligned with global objectives to promote financial health, sustainability, innovation, employee engagement and diversity, equity and inclusion. As part of his role, Tony developed and scaled the BBVA Foundation’s largest initiative to date, BBVA’s Center for Financial Education, which has increased the financial health of over 30,000 low- and moderate-income individuals since its inception. In addition, he launched the bank’s impact accelerator program, BBVA Momentum, supporting 55 social enterprises over three years with training, investment and mentorship. Tony also manages the bank’s Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion Council, supports employee business resource group network, conducts company-wide unconscious bias training, and champions the adoption of policies that promote equity and inclusion. His efforts have earned BBVA USA recognition as a best place to work in DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Corporate Equality Index.
