An outdoor performance evening dedicated to the spoken and ceremonial arts of the Delphic tradition. Presentations will include dramatic readings, original texts, site-specific rituals, and brief performance interludes. Drawing on ancient and contemporary sources, this program explores the role of language and recitation within Hellenic culture and the historic Delphic Games. Featuring Paris Katsivelos, Jay Leeming, Kathleen Hiley, Jacqueline Fernandez, Michiyo Sato, and others. The Greek Muses of AntiquityCurated by Marina Gonta, PhD, SorbonneThe video component of The Greek Muses of Antiquity will be on view in House A prior to the performance. Guests are warmly invited to arrive early and enjoy this work before the evening begins.A tribute to the enduring legacy of Ancient Greece, where creativity and mythology inspire poetry, art, and thought. The program honors Vaso Canellos—student, teacher, and close friend of Isadora Duncan—and features new works by participating artists that evoke the timeless spirit of the Muses. Guest Information: Two bathrooms are available in House A, where the running video installation may also be viewed before the performance.Parking: Parking will not be available on the Center for Hellenic Studies. Please park along Whitehaven St. or use other means of transportation.Please Note: In the event of inclement weather, outdoor seating and performance staging may be limited or adjusted. We recommend early arrival and will do our best to accommodate all registered guests.
