But here, in the central Largo, the mood is shared, serene, blossoming longing.” — New York Times Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor (BWV 1043) is one of the maestro’s most beloved pieces. The structural beauty and cheery, expressive, relentless, and moving aspects of the concerto enchant audiences and consume the players. Our festive program concludes with Johann Sebastian Bach’s daring Violin Concerto No. 2 in E major and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Oboe Concerto in B flat major.
