Be Part of the Conversation: Star Store Town Halls
We need your help to ensure that the reactivation of the Star Store in downtown New Bedford meets the needs of NB's incredible creative community.
This September, join us for one of three large-group town halls to help shape the future of the Star Store. We’re eager to hear from individual artists, small businesses, arts and culture groups and nonprofits, arts patrons, cultural practioners, and New Bedford residents about how this creative hub can best serve our community.
These town halls are the culmination of several weeks of smaller artistic discipline-specific sessions, and they’re open to everyone — you don’t need to be a practicing artist to attend. Come share your ideas, listen to your neighbors, and help envision the next chapter for this landmark building and the makers, artists, and creative businesses that will call it home.
Below is the current schedule. Note that the schedule is subject to change and that changes/additions will likely be required as we continue gathering feedback.

- 9/23/25 | 5:30-7:30pm | Town Hall #2 | Verdean Vets Memorial Hall
- 9/29/25 | 5:30-7:30pm | Town Hall #3 | New Bedford Free Public Library
