Qualia Contemporary Art Presents:''Resonance'' Art Exhibition
ZOOM OPENING NIGHT

To celebrate its upcoming group exhibition, Resonance , curated by Xiaoze Xie and featuring works by Terry Berlier, Paul DeMarinis, Guillermo Galindo, and Hu Xiangcheng, Qualia Contemporary Art will be hosting a live Zoom opening with artists on June 12, 2021, at 7:30 pm PST. The opening will include a virtual gallery walkthrough of the exhibition, artists&#x27; talks about their art practice and a Q&amp;A session allowing the audience to directly interact with artists. Resonance comprises an innovative and provocative array of pieces spanning mixed-media installation, sculpture, works on paper, and video. For example, Terry Berlier’s kinetic, sound-based sculptures and installations investigate the evolution of human connections with queerness and ecologies. Guillermo Galindo’s multidisciplinary works incorporate the visual markings of musical scores to evoke issues of colonization, immigration, borders, and power. Hu Xiangcheng’s abstract expressive practice engages with Chinese history and culture, with a focus on China’s rapid urbanization in recent decades. Paul DeMarinis experiments directly with the material technology of sound, crafting a striking combination of synthetic noises that plumb the possibilities of the form.
