We are thrilled to present "Looking Glass Self: How the Mind Shapes the Body," a solo show by emerging artist Ian Harmon. Ian’s work is inspired by the looking glass self, a concept in sociology about how we view ourselves through the eyes of others. In this spirit, the exhibition will feature paintings, prints, and pottery arranged around reflective surfaces, forcing the viewer to see fragmented versions of themselves and to perhaps question their own preconceived perceptions. Ian wants to challenge the way we interact with the world around us as well as our place within it. We invite you to the gallery via donation-based tickets during the following times:Thursday, 5/27 from 6-9pmFriday, 5/28 from 6-9pmSaturday, 5/29 from 6-9pm~ AND ~Sunday, 5/30 from 12-3pmMonday, 5/31 from 12-3pm Additional viewing hours by appointment only. ____________The Bakery is a collective of creative thinkers aligned around social justice principles, environmental concerns, and the belief that art is pivotal to existence. We utilize and critique technology as it changes the human landscape. Our previous space was unified around a DIY ethos which we carry with us into future projects.
