But here, in the central Largo, the mood is shared, serene, blossoming longing.” — New York Times Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor (BWV 1043) is one of the maestro’s most beloved pieces. The structural beauty and cheery, expressive, relentless, and moving aspects of the concerto enchant audiences and consume the players. Our festive program concludes with Johann Sebastian Bach’s daring Violin Concerto No. 2 in E major and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Oboe Concerto in B flat major. Friday, June 18 | 7pm | Woodfords Congregational Church, PortlandAll audience members and performers will be expected to follow COVID protocols, which will be shared with ticketholders via email closer to the date of the event in order to be as up-to-date as possible.
