Is it okay if I have never meditated?

Absolutely! We all must start somewhere, this is appropriate for new and experienced meditators. If you have more questions please reach out to me.

Do I need to be a Buddhist?

Accepted Answer

No you don’t.  In fact most group members do not consider themselves to be a Buddhist.  All you have to be is yourself.  We are not here to change anyone’s beliefs.  Meditation and Buddhism are practices, not belief systems.  You choose to use the tools or not, that is up to you.

What are the benefits of meditation?

Accepted Answer

The list is long, and the benefits arrive at different points for everyone, but here are some.  Calmness, relaxation, peace of mind, insight, joy, bliss, happiness, equanimity, compassion to name a few.

Is this appropriate for young people?

Accepted Answer

Sure. If they are interested they are welcome. Nothing discussed here is of an “adult” nature.
