Teetotal Initiative is a Pittsburgh-based 501(c)3 non-profit focused on individuals committed to a sober lifestyle.Teetotal Initiative’s inclusive and sober-focused high-quality programming addresses some of the most common causes of relapse - isolation, boredom, and loneliness. Our mission is to help individuals to sustain sobriety. Our goal is to enhance quality of life and support relapse prevention through free events, activities, and high-quality programming.​As the first-of-its-kind recreational sober community, Teetotal Initiative inspires a stigma-free and celebratory social atmosphere, promoting meaningful sobriety and community opportunities for all, regardless of their journey to recovery. We welcome all forms of recovery and are not aligned to any specific program. Teetotal Initiative does not provide support groups or professional medical services. Instead, we care for the “rest of life” that happens outside of formal treatment and group support and are a complement to anyone’s recovery toolbox.

🐴 Healing with Horses An Intimate Journey of Presence, Sharing &amp; Transformation on the Farm Join us for a soul-nourishing experience in the peaceful company of horses, where healing unfolds naturally through stillness, connection, and community. Set on a serene farm, this unique session invites you to slow down and open your heart—guided by the gentle wisdom of these incredible animals. We’ll begin with grounding meditation, ease into reflective journaling, and open space for meaningful conversation—what we’re calling a modern-day powwow. Together, we’ll share our stories, our struggles, our healing journeys, and hold space for each other as we move through whatever arises. Why Horses? Horses are deeply intuitive and emotionally intelligent beings. Simply being in their presence has been scientifically shown to:• Lower stress and cortisol levels• Improve emotional regulation and mindfulness• Promote heart coherence (a state of inner balance and calm)• Help us access suppressed emotions and bring them to light gently• Encourage honest self-reflection without judgment You don’t need to ride, lead, or even touch the horses—just being with them is powerful medicine. Their calm, present energy has a way of helping us drop into our own truth and feel held without words. This is a safe space to reflect, to release, and to be witnessed.Come as you are.
