Annie Albagli’s (AFF ‘20–‘21) We Become [Vessels] is a video-based installation responding to this time of isolation and a desire for touch and mobility. The Shofar, or ram’s horn, is a tool from Jewish tradition to mark the new moon and new year, and is said to have toppled the walls of Jericho. Pairing the Shofar with rocks inviting human touch, video, sound, and silk flags featuring composite images of the Marin Headlands landscape, Albagli’s installation in The Gym proposes new ways to move through space and time. Framed by the Marin Headlands and its history, We Become [Vessels] instigates movement between place, people, and generations, using ancestral tools for the exploration of the threshold of the self, our interdependence, and speculative imaginings.*The Sunday 2PM sessions on both weekends feature an artist-led walkthrough*Sunday, May 16, 2PM: Annie will be joined by Alex Arzt (AFF '18–'21). Alex Arzt facilitates connections between human and nonhuman spaces by creating projects in the form of publications, interactive objects, workshops, group performances, lectures, videos, and experimental gardens. Alex is a current Affiliate at Headlands and a frequent collaborator with Annie through their collective, Whiz World.Sunday, May 23, 2PM: Annie will be joined by Amanda Nudelman. Amanda Nudelman is currently Curator for North America Programs and Video &amp; Exhibitions Manager at KADIST San Francisco, and has staged exhibitions at The Wattis Institute, swissnex San Francisco, and Royal Nonesuch Gallery (which is where she first connected with Annie, who was then a co-director). She earned a master's degree in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts.We Become [Vessels] is supported by Asylum ArtsHeadlands Center for the Arts is excited to welcome you back to our campus! In accordance with National Park Service federal health guidelines, Headlands has established some COVID-19 protocols to help ensure the safety of all our visitors. <ul><li>Advance registration is required for all events and visits. No drop-in visitors at this time.</li><li>Upon arrival, please wait in the designated area. Staff will let you in at your reserved time. </li><li>All visitors must sign in, record their temperature, and confirm that they have no COVID-19 symptoms using<a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rFIsFI7qP6lagS_gUd0Lam5RkTAJ48f05WyI2WywZ14/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> this self-check guide</a>.</li><li>All visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask over the nose and mouth at all times, except while eating or drinking—no neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, or face coverings with valves, mesh, or holes. </li><li>Please note: this event welcomes up to 12 visitors from mixed households per viewing. All visitors must maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet from others. Parties of a single pod may remain together and children must remain with supervising adults at all times.</li><li>Mask and social distancing guidelines apply indoors and in outdoor common areas.</li><li>Please finish your visit in a timely manner in order for the next group to enjoy the exhibition.</li></ul>Our campus consists of historic buildings which lack central air filtration or circulation systems; Whenever possible, windows will remain open to encourage air circulation. Sanitizing stations are readily available throughout our buildings. Contact tracing is an important part of reducing the spread of COVID-19.
