Prior to private practice, Dan served in several roles with the U.S. Small Business Administration (“SBA”) in Washington, D.C. As an Assistant Chief Counsel in the SBA’s Office of Advocacy, Dan helped shop owners, cattle ranchers, software developers, food exporters, and other small entities amplify their voice during the federal regulatory process. Later, as an Attorney Advisor for the SBA’s Office of Hearings and Appeals, Dan worked to ensure truly “small” firms received contracts, task orders, and other government contracts set aside for small businesses or specific socioeconomic groups like women-owned (“WOSB”), minority-owned (“MOSB”), or service-disabled veteran-owned businesses (“SDVO SB”). Today, Dan often collaborates with serial entrepreneurs and established companies alike on the complex legal issues affecting their businesses. Whether navigating state and federal agencies, developing an IP strategy, or analyzing a business’ size and affiliations for government programs, Dan provides his clients with access to a depth of knowledge and strategy to achieve their business goals.
