SEA of Visibility Integrated Arts Education

SEA of Visibility Integrated Arts Education embraces BIPOC, immigrant, queer and disabled artists and allies, focusing on neurodiversity and mental health. It “Supports Expression through the Arts” (SEA) and promotes integration through education.

Artist Christophe Lima will challenge participants to look at their surroundings in a new way. You will be encouraged to express your emotions and personal voice/style when creating your work.The job of the artist is not only to copy what he or she sees. As important technical execution is, the next step to art making, is putting emotion into what is being created. This course will challenge the student to look at the world around them in a very different way. Using both black and white, and color media of the student’s choice, the student will be asked to visually elevate items that they may overlook in their daily lives, and inject emotion into what they are creating.Class supply list will be provided upon registrationSEA of Visibility Integrative Arts Education supports mental-wellness through socially conscious, multi-disciplinary arts programming. Our classes and open studios are inclusive of neurodiverse and neurotypical students and provide a safe space to create expressively.SEA of Visibility Mission Statement: SEA of Visibility is an organization that embraces BIPOC, queer and disabled artists and allies, focusing on neurodiversity and mental health. It “Supports Expression through the Arts” (SEA) and promotes destigmatization and integration through multidisciplinary arts exhibitions, performances and art-making programs. It provides peer and professional support and offers coping and compensatory strategies for its participants, helping to create art that broadens the greater community’s vision of what mental illness is.
