June Session: 6/1, 6/8, 6/15
All classes are 7pm-8:30pm

SEA of Visibility Integrated Arts Education

SEA of Visibility Integrated Arts Education embraces BIPOC, immigrant, queer and disabled artists and allies, focusing on neurodiversity and mental health. It “Supports Expression through the Arts” (SEA) and promotes integration through education.

Why should the kiddos have all the fun? A 3 session virtual camp where we will make at least one project in each class together and the teaching artist will provide resources for additional activities and materials. We will make monoprints, be introduced to embroidery, and make some fancy paper jewelry. Let’s explore and enjoy our creativity. No prior art making experience needed.WHAT IS ART? Everyone has their own answer, but at Art Out of Anything we believe that art is….everything. In these classes we will explore and play with different art materials, express ourselves and enjoy making art! Our goal is always to make art accessible, create a safe space free of judgment and encourage creative expression.Class Breakdown5/12 – Printing with a Cookie Sheet – making monoprints with simple materials5/18 – Not your Grandmother’s Embroidery – Learn the magical art of mastering thread. You will learn 3 basic stitches and start a small, fun design for your first project.5/25 – Paper Jewelry. Yes! Paper Jewelry! – We will make a necklace using decorative papers and jewelry findings and it will be stunning!Class supply list will be provided upon registrationART OUT OF ANYTHINGArt Out of Anything provides arts and cultural programming to families, students and teachers through residencies, classes and professional development opportunities. We design, implement and manage programs in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island. Founder Patty Eljaiek is a mixed media artist that exhibits nationally and is currently obsessed with embroidering everything she can get her hands on..SEA of Visibility Integrative Arts Education supports mental-wellness through socially conscious, multi-disciplinary arts programming. It provides peer and professional support and offers coping and compensatory strategies for its participants, helping to create art that broadens the greater community’s vision of what mental illness is.
