Open by reservation for in-person viewing by groups of up to 6 people, May 2 - 23, 2021 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 12-5pm.Organized by curator PJ Gubatina Policarpio, and featuring work by Headlands&#x27; 2020-21 Graduate Fellows, representing seven MFA programs from around the Bay Area:Calum Craik (San Francisco State University)Jillian Crochet (California College of the Arts)Xandra Ibarra (UC Berkeley)Yétundé Olagbaju (Mills College)Jessica Eve Rattner (UC Davis)Stuart Robertson (Stanford University)Lena Tseabbe Wright (San Francisco Art Institute)Tarsal by Metatarsal explores the seven Graduate Fellows&#x27; varied engagements with the body in its expansive and multivalent manifestations: as archive and ecosystem, instrument and metaphor, specter and source. Tasked with creating work under the extraordinary weight of the current moment alongside the bone-crushing persistence of ableism, capitalism, colonialism, patriarchy, and white supremacy, the participating fellows utilize a spectrum of strategies and tactics to assemble a body of work that is simultaneously an encounter of the present and an index of what the body remembers, endures, and survives. 						--PJ Gubatina Policarpio, Curator(image credit: Jillian Crochet)Rules and Guidelines for Visiting:Headlands Center for the Arts is excited to welcome you back to our campus! In accordance with National Park Service federal health guidelines, Headlands has established some COVID-19 protocols to help ensure the safety of all our visitors. <ul><li>Tarsal by Metatarsal will be open for in-person, social distanced viewing for groups of up to six people with an online reservation. Groups may sign up for a 45-minute viewing slot. Slots must be reserved by 12PM the day prior. One person will sign up for the reservation, but please list all members of your group during registration to facilitate contact tracing. </li><li>Advance registration is required for all events and visits. No drop-in visitors at this time.</li><li>Upon arrival, please wait in the designated area. Staff will let you in at your reserved time. If late, ring the doorbell. </li><li>All visitors must sign in, record their temperature at a touchless temperature station, and submit that they have no COVID-19 symptoms using<a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rFIsFI7qP6lagS_gUd0Lam5RkTAJ48f05WyI2WywZ14/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> this self-check guide</a>.</li><li>All visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask over the nose and mouth at all times, except while eating or drinking—no neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, or face coverings with valves, mesh, or holes. </li><li>All visitors must maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet from others. Parties of a single pod may remain together and children must remain with supervising adults at all times.</li><li>Mask and social distancing guidelines apply indoors and in outdoor common areas.</li><li>Please finish your visit in a timely manner in order for the next group to enjoy the exhibition.</li></ul>Our campus consists of historic buildings which lack central air filtration or circulation systems; Whenever possible, windows will remain open to encourage air circulation. Sanitizing stations are readily available throughout our buildings. Contact tracing is an important part of reducing the spread of COVID-19.
