Nature Unplugged Hike-A-Thon 2025: San Diego, CA

San Diego, CA | Join us for our 2025 Nature Unplugged Hike-A-Thon this October!  In collaboration with San Diego County Parks and Live Well San Diego, we're hosting a kick-off event and four ranger-led hikes throughout the county.

Join us on the trail, meet new friends and log miles as part of Nature Unplugged's 2025 Hike-A-Thon! Each hike is ranger-led in partnership with the County of San Diego's Park and Recreation.Registration encouraged, no cost to participate.SAN ELIJO LAGOON &amp; ANNIE'S CANYONThe <a href="https://www.sdparks.org/content/sdparks/en/park-pages/SanElijo.html" title="https://www.sdparks.org/content/sdparks/en/park-pages/SanElijo.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">San Elijo Lagoon</a> is one of San Diego’s largest wetlands. This 979-acre reserve is primarily a shallow-water estuary, formed where the Escondido and La Orilla Creeks meet the Pacific Ocean.<a href="https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/map-august-27-2024-2504734?u=i&amp;sh=8ej9ik" title="https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/map-august-27-2024-2504734?u=i&amp;sh=8ej9ik" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">We'll hike a 4 mile loop</a> around the lagoon, including a stop at the San Elijo Nature Center, over to Annie's Canyon Trail and back. The majority of the loop is considered easy to moderate and family friendly. The quarter-mile, moderate-to-strenuous Annie’s Canyon Trail through the slot canyon is optional!Important Note: This event is a part of a month-long Hike-A-Thon! ABOUT THE HIKE-A-THON:OCTOBER 1 - 31, 2025 | For the month of October, participants will be taking steps (literally and figuratively) to improve their own health, build community and advocate for less screen time and more green time. This event inspires people of all ages and abilities to get outdoors and raise funds to bring preventative mental health programming to schools and communities in need. Participants can log miles from anywhere in the world!
