Birding Remotely: Live from Arenal Volcano with Indiana Audubon
Overview
**This event starts at 9 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. CT**
Join us for a special live hour of tropical birding from the back deck overlooking the Arenal Volcano National Park in Costa Rica. Indiana Audubon teams up with Lifer Nature Tours and the Northern Costa Rica Toucans & Tanagers Tour for this unique remote birding experience, beaming the birds of the rainforest straight to your screen.
Enjoy up-close looks at a colorful cast of feeder regulars like Scarlet-rumped Tanagers, Blue-gray Tanagers, and Silver-throated Tanagers, plus possible cameos from toucans, saltators, and the striking hummingbirds. Expect surprises, fruit feeders attract more than just birds.
Along the way, learn about local conservation efforts and the challenges (and wins) of protecting these vibrant habitats. Whether you're dreaming of Costa Rica or reliving a favorite trip, this virtual visit brings the rainforest to you, no extra visa fees needed.
This virtual session is the first in a three-part "Birding Remotely" winter series that brings global birding into your living room through engaging storytelling, expert commentary, and HD video direct from the field. The event will run 60-75 minutes. We recommend joining live for optimal engagement, but a recording will be provided for participants who cannot attend in real-time.
