Birding Remotely: Costa Rica at The Nest Nature Center II
Overview
**This event starts at 9 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. CT**
Take your birding deeper into the tropics with the second stop in our Birding Remotely series, streaming live from Costa Rica’s lush Caribbean slope. February marks peak bird activity across the region, and you'll get a front-row view from The Nest Nature Center, where feeders, forest edges, and expert eyes bring the action straight to your screen.
Naturalist and guide Juan Diego Vargas returns to showcase a new cast of colorful characters—think honeycreepers, manakins, motmots, and maybe a surprise or two from the forest canopy. With real-time insights and high-definition video, you'll feel like you're right there in the rainforest.
Some of the stars we hope to encounter include: Keel-billed Toucan, Black-cheeked Woodpecker, White-throated Jacobin, White-bearded Manakin, Buff-throated Saltator, and more.
This virtual session is the first in a three-part "Birding Remotely" winter series that brings global birding into your living room through engaging storytelling, expert commentary, and HD video direct from the field. The event will run 60-75 minutes. We recommend joining live for optimal engagement, but a recording will be provided for participants who cannot attend in real-time.
