Free community event to support agribusiness in Louisville. Community Food is a nonprofit connecting local growers, producers, and grocers.

Community Food is a nonprofit organization encouraging sustainable food systems in underserved neighborhoods via networking. The purpose of Community Food is to create healthy food hubs in areas recognized as food deserts. Healthy food hubs connect local growers, processors, and food retailers with community residents in need of fresh, affordable food options. Community Food is dedicated to nutrition education, sustainable urban farming, and economic empowerment in underserved communities.Community Food’s inaugural networking and learning event will take place May 22, 2021 at 1619 Flux. This free event will connect the public with agribusinesses &amp; other Nonprofits that support healthy food options in their community. Community Food will also amplify the good work done by local businesses and identify areas in the food system that need support to better serve Louisville communities. Event Schedule1pm-3pm Open to the Public (Free)Attendees will browse booths featuring a wide array of growers, processors and food retailers that serve Louisville’s West End and neighboring communities.Activities such as cooking demonstrations, keynote speakers, and more will provide information on the importance of healthy eating.The Agriculture Art Gallery will highlight stories of local agribusiness owners, and help attendees understand the state of urban agriculture in Louisville and how they can participate in a stronger food system.Food, music, and family entertainment!
