Posters are invited from SC INBRE-funded students, faculty and teachers. (Only the student posters will be judged.)

Currently, podium presentations will be limited to SC INBRE BIPP, DRP and SIRP grant recipients. If we have time, flash talks may be offered. Make sure you indicate on the form if you'd like to be considered for this opportunity.

OVERVIEW

  • SC INBRE-funded research must have been conducted within the last year.
  • Abstracts (all presenters) are due Friday, February 3, 2023, 11:59 pm EST. No abstracts will be accepted after the deadline.
  • Please pay careful attention to the Guidelines below and adhere to them. Abstracts will not be accepted if information is missing or not in correct format.
  • All abstracts will submitted online via this form only. Unlike past events, abstracts will not be emailed or uploaded, rather you will type in your text here.
  • ELIGIBILITY

    As this Science Symposium is presented by SC INBRE, abstracts accepted for only research with financial support from SC INBRE’s funding mechanisms: Bioinformatics Pilot Project Program, Developmental Research Project Program, Student-Initiated Research Project Program, Research Experiences for Teachers and network institutional awards, as well as from our outreach institutions.

    ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

    Each abstract should be divided into four subheadings:

    • Introduction/Background
    • Hypothesis/Goal of Study
    • Methods and Results, and
    • Conclusions

    Size: Abstracts should include a title, author(s), affiliation(s), text, and acknowledgments. Please limit the body of the abstract to 300 words or less.

    Authors: The presenting author will be the primary contact for this abstract, will receive email notifications regarding poster creation, and be responsible for giving the oral and/or poster presentation. The presenting author is responsible to contact other authors regarding the status of the abstract.

    Affiliation(s): Include department, name of institution and location for each author on your abstract. For example, Department of Biology, Awesome University, City, SC

    • Note: No figures or special characters will be accepted with the abstract.

    Grant support: Acknowledgement of grant support should be given at the end of the abstract.

    One additional note: You are responsible for making sure there are not typographical or grammatical issues. Abstracts, unless otherwise marked embargo, will be published as submitted.
