Chef Asata's Cooking with Kids

Asata Reid, MS Ed, is the owner of Life Chef, a culinary and nutrition education service. She has over a decade of experience as a professional chef and community health educator, conducting seminars and hands-on cooking classes with children, working adults and seniors.She is an honors graduate of the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Atlanta, a cum laude graduate of Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism, and an honors recipient with a Masters in Education from the University of Kansas. Chef Asata is currently enrolled at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University as a Masters of Public Health candidate (2020). Chef Asata was inducted into the Atlanta Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International as part of the class of 2018, and is a recent alum of the 2020 StartMe:Eastlake business accelerator program.Her superpower is getting kids (and adults) to eat their veggies!

Kids and teens learn knife skills, flavor combos, kitchen safety and sanitation all while preparing a delicious and nutritious dish for the family. No &quot;kiddie food&quot; here, we&#x27;re talking real food for real people! Chef Asata expertly guides this cook-along class to achieve successful and yummy results. Parental guidance suggested.As a professional chef and mother, Chef Asata has been cooking with kids in person for almost two decades, and has taught virtually since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Ingredient and Equipment Lists will be sent to you upon registration so that you have everything your young person needs when it is time to cook with Chef Asata. The class is held via Zoom in a room secured with a unique ID and passcode which will also be sent to you after registration. For the safety of our kids, please do not share this link and passcode.
