PRIDE Spring Cleanup @ Cumberland Falls RESCHEDULED

Southern and eastern Kentucky is home to one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. To promote stewardship of this majestic environment, Eastern Kentucky PRIDE, Inc., was created in 1997 to encourage citizens to take responsibility for protecting their environment and by providing the education and resources to do so. PRIDE, a nonprofit organization, partners with local governments, businesses, civic groups, schools, and volunteers to accomplish cleanup and education goals. With PRIDE, this scenic region is succeeding in uncovering its tourism potential.

Volunteer at one of Kentucky's most beautiful and popular sites! We were rained out on March 27, but we have rescheduled for May 1.

Cumberland Falls Visitor's Center

Click "Register" to claim your free "ticket" to participate. Volunteers will pick up litter along Hwy. 90, leading to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, and other roads near the park.PREREGISTER, IF YOU CAN (NOT REQUIRED):IF YOU DO NOT PRE-REGISTER, PLEASE GO TO THE FALLS VISITOR'S CENTER ON MAY 1, BETWEEN 8 AND 9 AM. YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR CLEANUP SUPPLIES AND A CLEANUP SPOT.If possible, please preregister so we can plan where volunteers will be cleaning. The preregistration form asks what spot you want to clean or gives you the option to let the event organizers choose the spot where you are most needed.Preregister online by clicking "Register." Please claim a free "ticket" for each volunteer you are preregistering. You will see the option to create a group, so you can share a preregistration link with your group's volunteers. In person, you can preregister at these locations:<ul><li>McCreary County Library</li><li>McCreary County Tourism Office</li><li>Whitley County Courthouse</li><li>Corbin Library</li><li>Corbin Tourism Office</li></ul>You will receive an email with more information after you preregister.DAY OF CLEANUP:8:00-9:00 IF YOU PREREGISTERED: Go to one of the Registration Stations to pick up your cleanup supplies and turn in your signed waiver form. IF YOU ARE NOT PREREGISTERED: Go to the Visitor's Center to register on site.9:00-12:00 Pick up litter at your assigned locationAWARDS:Awards will be given to the Community Group and School Group that bring the most volunteers. Also, the Volunteer Cup trophy will be presented to the county that recruits the most volunteers.ATTIRE:All volunteers should dress appropriately for working outdoors in the weather that morning. Sturdy shoes are recommended. PRIDE will provide disposable gloves and safety vests.
