Hosted in partnership with Searchlight Pictures and Assembly Member Harvey Epstein.Directed by Questlove, this Academy Award-winning documentary resurrects the long-forgotten 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival—a joy-soaked celebration of Black music, culture, and resistance. The film features concert performances by Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sly &amp; the Family Stone, Gladys Knight &amp; the Pips, Mahalia Jackson, B.B. King, The 5th Dimension and more. Join us for live music in the park ahead of the screening.Rain date: August 28th---All events will feature free refreshments + surprises from our LESFF sponsors—including ice cold Topo Chico, treats from Wonder, and cozy vibes courtesy of Sofaclub and Flamer.
