No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. It grows stronger with use.”</em> - Ruth Gordon</p><p>What is courage? And why do we need it?</p><p>Throughout our lives -- in classrooms and workplaces, in personal relationships and leadership roles, in crises and everyday moments -- fear has the power to hold us back from our authentic selves, meaningful relationships, and collective justice.  In this community of curiosity and practice, we will explore different definitions of courage and strategies for strengthening our courage muscles. We will tell stories, discuss texts, and practice courage in the classroom. This course will draw on wisdom from Parker Palmer, Brene Brown, Mary Oliver, Jewish tradition, among others, as well as the wisdom of experience and insight of each member of the class. </p><p>This course began with a relationship and a question. Barbara Dragul, an expert educator, teaches education to aspiring rabbis at the Hebrew Union College (HUC) in Clifton. Shirah Kraus is a rabbinical student at HUC with a special passion for education. “When we read Parker Palmer’s, The Courage to Teach, I felt like my innermost thoughts and feelings were being reflected back to me,” reflects Shirah, “and I wanted to know, how can I become more courageous in school, in relationships, in justice work, in other words, in my life as a whole?” Teaching a Hive Class together seemed like the perfect place to ask big questions about courage and actually practice it with others. And Barbara seemed like the perfect partner.</p><p>Together we can cultivate personal and collective courage.</p><h3>Your Zoom link will be sent with your registration confirmation.
