Authentic Trainings provides evidenced based trainings for human service professionals.  We specialize in substance use disorder, trauma responsiveness and Motivational Interviewing.  Our trainings are designed from an adult learning perspective.  We believe that adults need to understand the relevance of the training and how it fits into their own practice.

<h3>On-line event on 4/9/2021 and 4/16/2021 9:00 am to 12:45 pm.</h3>Trauma First Aid for Peers is approved by ASAP-NYCB for CARC Elective and CARC &amp; CRPA renewal hours.It is also approved by OASAS for CASAC renewal hours. This is an interactive, experiential training.Who Should Attend: ASAP-NYCB Certified Peer Recovery Advocates (CRPAs), CARCs, and Recovery Coaches,. This training would also be of interest to CASACs, Peer Supervisors, Life Coaches, and Support Staff. Trauma First Aid for Peers is designed to educate peers on trauma responsive care. This introduction will highlight universal precautions, prevalence of trauma in SUD, recognizing trauma responses, preventing re-traumatization, and practical engagement strategies for referral. In the Spirit of Motivational Interview, this training will look at language that will encourage connection and prevent re-traumatization. We will define the role of peers in the trauma story, encourage good boundaries and teach you how to know when and how to make a referral. Participants will practice setting good boundaries, and use trauma responsive language through practice scenarios. You will leave with self-care techniques to prevent compassion fatigue. Peer Supervisors will become familiar with how peers can support trauma responsive care, through good supervision. This will help the peer stay safe and practice good self care.
