During her Residency, Solo Resident Terri Sanders continues her experimentation in layers using photography.

Solo Resident Terri Sanders’ artist practice is an experimentation in layers using photography, printmaking, watercolor &amp; gouache, and collage. During her residency, she will create a portfolio of collage artwork that will include photopaintings of New Orleans mausoleums with collage, as well as exploring found collage to incorporate into additional mixed media artwork. The experimentation will consist of size, design, and interesting effects using collage.On Saturday, July 12, 2025, 6-8PM, the public is invited to visit Kolaj Institute Gallery to meet the artist and see how the artwork is progressing. This Open Studio is part of the Bywater Second Saturday Art Walk.ABOUT KOLAJ INSTITUTE'S SOLO RESIDENCIESThe mission of Kolaj Institute is to support artists, curators, and writers who seek to study, document, and disseminate ideas that deepen our understanding of collage as a medium, a genre, a community, and a 21st century movement. We operate a number of initiatives meant to bring together community, investigate critical issues, and raise collage’s standing in the art world. Kolaj Institute’s Solo Residencies are designed to provide artists, curators, and writers with dedicated time and space to work on a project, develop their practice, and make artwork.
