Recovery Devon

Recovery Devon and Karate Academy are pleased to be offering a free self-defence class to those affected by recent events.

Karate Academy

In response to community concerns following recent tragic news stories, Recovery Devon and Karate Academy are pleased to be offering a free self-defence class. This class is for anyone that might be feeling anxious or vulnerable when out on their own. The news has been incredibly hard hitting and we understand that the world may feel like a scary place right now. This can have a huge impact on our mental health and anxiety levels and be really debilitating. We understand and would like to offer this free course to help people claim back their confidence and hopefully feel empowered. As this is a support group we are able to run this course inside whilst following Covid guidelines. To remain within government Covid rules, this class will be offered to pairs that are bubbled together- support bubbles, household bubbles ect. This is so that pairs can practise the self-defence moves on each other and get a real feel for the manouvers. You must be in your partners bubble to attend. This is an inclusive event for all genders, and we welcome those from the LGBTQ+, BAME and Disability communities. (Please be aware that the venue is on the first floor with no lift access, if you wish to attend but this this affects you being able to please get in contact)We will be sending out forms to fill in a couple of days before the event which will need everyone to confirm that they don't have Covid symptoms and with a set of rules to follow i.e 2 metres, hand washing ect Sign up essential as there are only 14 space (7 pairs) available. Please book on separately but, if it's not clear that your partners, please assign each person either number 1 and 2 so we know who the partners are. If you have any questions please email sami@recoverydevon.co.uk
