The Book Club for Book Hoes was established in July 2022 with our first book club meeting in August 2022 in Central Park. What started as a fun side-hobby has now turned into a full-time job and organization for creator and organizer Zoë Mahler, who runs five book clubs in-person each month and has now expanded to one book club virtually. We host literary and bookish-themed events monthly. There is no theme for this book club, other than to accommodate those of us book hoes who are morning people and love a good coffee. We focus mostly on generalized fiction, but have strayed a bit into thrillers, fantasy, and queer literature in the past. This book club is open and inclusive to all book hoes.F﻿emmes Book Clubmeets on the first Sunday of the month. We read books with badass femme protagonists and meet in a bar in Union Square (near The Strand). We read books in any genre, but we primarily stick to general fiction and contemporary literature. This book club is open to all femmes and femme-presenting readers in their 20s and 30s.M﻿urder, They Read Book Clubmeets the first Monday of the month in the East Village. We read all things spooky - murder mysteries, thrillers, a little bit of horror, and general mysteries. This book club is open and inclusive to all book hoes.R﻿omance Book Clubmeets the first Tuesday of the month at a romance bookstore in Park Slope. We read all romances of all kinds. Generally, all parties of the romance books we read are human (I know monster romance is big these days but we haven't gotten that creative yet). This book club is open and inclusive to all book hoes.F﻿antasy & Fables Book Clubmeets the first Wednesday of the month at a bookstore in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. We read all fantasy and romantasy, including exploring lots of different sub-genres within the fantasy realm. This book club is open and inclusive to all book hoes.B﻿OOK CLUB FROM BEDis our virtual book club. We meet (virtually) on the third Sunday of the month at 8:30pm EST. This book club gets to vote for the books they read and a poll goes out at the end of every month to vote for the upcoming book. There is no specific guidelines for what we read, and we have read lots of different genres and books in the past. We have book hoes joining us from all over the world and our book club is structured virtually as a conversation and follow-up games and chance to chat as a group.O﻿nce you attend book club, you'll receive a follow-up email following your in-person book club (or virtual) that will provide you with a link to our internal BFF app group chat. B FF is part of Bumble BFF and is very similar to Discord, but a bit more user-friendly. This Book Hoes group chat will provide you with an opportunity to connect with your fellow book hoes in between book clubs. There is a main group chat, a community board, and group chats for each book club. Tickets go on sale in the BFF group chat an hour prior to going on sale to the public.A﻿s for our events, we try to have at least one or two events a month depending on venue availability. In the past, we have hosted book exchanges, happy hours, trivia nights, silent reading nights, read-a-thons, and many more. Our members are primarily women in their 20s and 30s, but we are welcoming to any and all readers who wish to connect and have a good time. The BOOK CLUB FOR BOOK HOES is turning three, and we would love to celebrate all the people who have made that happen. Both tickets include your drink ticket, book ticket (there will be a book table where everyone gets to pick a book to take home), and raffle ticket to our massive raffle of books, bookish merch, and other amazing goodies ! This will be our third and final year with the tote bag ticket, which is a large tote that has a zipper at the top and a zipped pocket on the inside. It is a large canvas tote with a black reinforced bottom part and our anniversary logo (as shown in the Eventbrite banner).TOTE + ADMISSION TICKET - $45GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET - $35 And yes, this event will include a book exchange section.Our main focus for this event is to provide a space for bookish people to get together and talk about our love for reading, but also connect over what we're reading, how reading has impacted our lives, and help us to make our bookish space as warm and welcoming as possible to all.You will find the timeline for the event and what to expect in the AGENDA section. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable between book clubs and events. Tote bags cannot be shipped and must be picked up at the event. If you are unable to attend the event and have a tote bag to pick up, you can pick it up at a September or October book club.This event is considered a fundraiser to help us raise money for our book club to continue to do fun events like these, and also to help us raise money to open a bookstore so we can have our own bookish community space.If anyone has any questions you can contact us at nycbookhoes@gmail.com. PLEASE ARRIVE DURING THIS TIMESLOT. Upon arrival you will be told where to go into the main event hall. When you check in you will receive your bookmark, raffle ticket, and drink ticket. If you have a tote bag included in your ticket you can head over to the merch table and provide your name so they can hand over your tote. 

CHECK-IN

Same as last year, we are working to have a massive raffle which will include tons of items including books, bookish merch, and much, much more. You can purchase extra raffle tickets to help your odds at the raffle table and will have tons of time to take a look at what all will be available throughout the night.
