We host a screening and panel discussion about the film 'Picture a Scientist', in which we will discuss equality &amp; diversity in science.

About the film 'Picture a Scientist'PICTURE A SCIENTIST chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. You will receive instructions for watching the film after signing up. The panel discussion will take place online on April 15, from 14:30 to 16:00 CEST, through the GoToWebinar platform. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions to our panellists. Our panel consists of the following distinguished speakers:• Marc Mézard (Director of ENS);• Françoise Combes (Professor in Astrophysics at Collège de France, winner of the 2020 CNRS gold medal and recently awarded as <a href="https://en.unesco.org/news/loreal-unesco-women-science-awards-honour-five-women-researchers-mathematics-astrophysics" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">L’Oréal Woman of the Year</a>);• Sonia Garel (Professor of Biology ENS and Collège de France);• Nicolas Coltice (Professor of Geosciences ENS, co-initiator « <a href="https://didthisreallyhappen.net/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Did this really happen</a> »);• Nadine Halberstadt (Research Director at CNRS/LCAR in Toulouse, President of the Association « <a href="https://www.femmesetsciences.fr/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Femmes et Science</a> »);• Thomas Breda (Associate Professor at Paris School of Economics).About Equality &amp; Diversity ENSWe are a group of researchers at Ecole Normale Supérieure, aiming to increase awareness around equality &amp; diversity at ENS and in science in general. We do this by organising events, such as a Wikipedia edit-a-thon for the 11th of February, the international day for women and girls in science.
