The foundation is a nonprofit education foundation focused on state and municipal issues. It is free of outside control by any individual, organization or group. It exists solely to conduct and distribute research on Indiana issues.

<h3>A RETURN TO FOUNDING PRINCIPLES</h3>Forty-one percent of those born after 1997 are proud to be an American compared with 83 percent of those born before 1946. — Gallup Poll, July 2025JOIN US in Indianapolis as we properly celebrate the profound effect that the Declaration of Independence continues to have on Hoosier lives. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 9, 2026, Hope Covenant Church, 8615 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis.Morning Speakers — Gary Varvel, nationally syndicated cartoonist, on the topic, "Faith and the Founders”; Dede Petri, Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association and contributing author to "What Every College Student Should Know about American History."Lunch Program — A box-lunch talk on the benefits of organizing Socratic seminars to restore civil discourse. Mark Franke, former associate vice-chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.Afternoon Panel — "Knowing our History” moderated by Andrea Neal, editor of “Indiana Mandate” and former editorial page editor of the Indianapolis Star. Panelists: Dr. T. Cole Jones, associate professor of history, Purdue University; State Rep. Andrew Ireland; Sarah Skwire, senior fellow, the Liberty Fund; Micah Clark, American Family Association of Indiana.Book Signings/Mugs — Authors will be available to sign copies of their books. We will have plenty of "Founders” coffee mugs.
