Violist Samuel Tatsuki will be attending the Curtis Institute of Music in the fall of 2025.

Fried Music II

Fried Music Foundation presents the Young Artist Series, highlighting up-and-coming violist Samuel Tatsuki (and alumnus of our Pre-College Program). Samuel Tatsuki, born in Los Angeles, began violin at age 4 and switched to viola at 7. He currently studies with Tatjana Masurenko at the Colburn Music Academy as a Kohl Scholar and will attend the Curtis Institute of Music in fall 2025. His past teachers include Teng Li, Eddy Malave, and Michael Larco.A prizewinner in competitions such as the Johansen International, Southern California Viola Society, and Fischoff Chamber Music, Samuel has performed with the Evie Quartet and served as principal viola at BUTI’s Young Artists Orchestra. He spends summers at the Perlman Music Program and has worked with artists like Itzhak Perlman, Midori, and Lawrence Dutton.All proceeds go to supporting the Fried Music Foundation and its educational commitment, the performing artists, and our future concert. All concert goers receive a special 10% discount at our shop.
