Why is the competition participation fee not refundable?

There is a cost the event incurs with each team that registers including student lunches, car number stickers, garage signs, etc. which is covered partially by this fee.  If you have any questions please email us at competitions@GlobalEEE.org before you register.

Question 2

Do we need to purchase a new car kit for this competition?

Accepted Answer

Teams that participated in prior EVGP competitions in the UAE or USA may use the same cars they competed with.  New teams are required to purchase the kit.  Please contact us at competitions@GlobalEEE.org before you register to get information and pricing on the kits and any replacement parts.

Question 3

What is the Stock Class?

Accepted Answer

Stock Class: team races with unmodified official kit. The students are still able to introduce creative designs and technical innovations, but there are restrictions on certain components that cannot be modified such as chassis, outerbody, motor, controller, etc.

What is the Open Class?

Accepted Answer

Open Class: team may make significant changes to the base kit while still adhering to the design regulations. Certain restrictions are applied, such as total cost, charging current (Amps), etc. Refer to the Official Rules and Regulations document for details.

Question 5

Can a school enter two teams, one for Stock and one for Open?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but only schools that competed in previous EVGP competitions.  New schools may only enter in the Stock Class.

Question 6

Do the two classes compete together or in separate races?

Accepted Answer

Both classes compete together and all cars are ranked based on number of laps completed.  Awards are then given to the top three finishers in Stock Class, top three in Open Class, as well as the overall top three finishers irrespective of entry class.

Question 7

Can a school enter two teams in the same class?

Accepted Answer

No. However, there are the following exceptions: (1) two teams may be entered in the same class provided one of them is an all-female team, and (2) after the registration window closes the organizers may allow a limited number of second teams.  Email competitions@GlobalEEE.org if you wish to do so.

Question 8

What is the allowable age to participate, and can middle schools join the competition?

Accepted Answer

The EVGP is intended for high schools only and the team may be comprised of students aged 14-19.  Middle schools wishing to participate should inquire about the Junior EVGP which will be held for the first time in UAE in 2026.
