Our vision is to have a world where all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Washington County is the second most populated Oregon county.  When it comes to academic performance, emotional development, and preparation for employment, County kids are missing out. WCK is the only county-wide coordinator serving afterschool and summer OST programs and is also a liaison to the county’s early learning hub. WCK facilitates networking, educational opportunities, the sharing of best practices, and fostering collaboration among providers. This event: Tuesday, April 27Balancing Work, Life, and all the Rest: Jessie Ricker, QMHP Sequoia Mental Health Services (and mommy of two littles under 2 1/2!)Description: This session is geared toward any parents/caregivers who are looking for helpful tips and tricks to prioritize self-care in their busy worlds of work, caring for kiddos, life, and all the rest.<a href="https://washingtoncountykids.org/event/parent-speaker-series/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WCK Parent Speaker Series</a> are presentations designed to provide useful information, tips, and tools for parents/guardians of children K-8.Each one-hour session begins with an informative and informal presentation by our professional speakers and allows adequate time for participants to ask questions.<ul><li>Sessions are provided at no cost to registered participants</li><li>Sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays from 6-7:00 PM PST (session recordings will be available)</li><li>Door prizes, too!</li></ul>Presenter Bio: Welcome everyone! I am currently a therapist at Sequoia Mental Health Services. I consider myself a well-seasoned therapist as I’ve been working in the field for over 8 years with children, youth, couples, families, and adults in a variety of treatment settings. I am a true native of Portland OR, but I also have experience working with people all around the world. My style is very interactive and I strive towards building a collaborative, client-centered approach in therapy especially incorporating the client’s culture and core values into their treatment process. My mission statement is to find the balance between truth and grace and help illuminate the path towards the client’s goals. I am a firm believer that the biggest predictors of change for success in treatment are highlighting the client’s strengths and forming an alliance with a diverse and supportive social network. As a full time, working mama of two young littles, practicing healthy self-care is essential for the work I do and I always do my best to continue to find the balance between work, life, and all the rest.
