Our vision is to have a world where all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Washington County is the second most populated Oregon county.  When it comes to academic performance, emotional development, and preparation for employment, County kids are missing out. WCK is the only county-wide coordinator serving afterschool and summer OST programs and is also a liaison to the county’s early learning hub. WCK facilitates networking, educational opportunities, the sharing of best practices, and fostering collaboration among providers. This event: Tuesday, April 20How to help kids with homework (without doing it yourself): Christina Matousek, parent and former teacherDescription: In this session, we will explore the purpose behind homework and how to help your child complete assignments. Finding fun and creative ways to keep everyone on task.<a href="https://washingtoncountykids.org/event/parent-speaker-series/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WCK Parent Speaker Series</a> are presentations designed to provide useful information, tips, and tools for parents/guardians of children K-8.Each one-hour session begins with an informative and informal presentation by our professional speakers and allows adequate time for participants to ask questions.<ul><li>Sessions are provided at no cost to registered participants</li><li>Sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays from 6-7:00 PM PST (session recordings will be available)</li></ul>About our Presenter: Christine Matousek<ul><li>Teacher - 10 years</li><li>Masters Degree in Educational Leadership</li><li>General Manager for Oak Hills HOA</li><li>Board Member for NAMI Washington County</li><li>SACSE Member (Special Advisory Council for Special Ed)</li><li>MOM - 18 years (kids ages 18, 16, 9, 6)</li></ul>
