Please support the artists by purchasing a donation-based ticket.</p><p>Chicago saxophonist Dave Rempis and percussionist Avreeayl Ra have worked together for over a decade, most regularly in their collaborative working quartet with Joshua Abrams on bass and Jim Baker on piano/electronics.  The three records by that band -Aphelion (2014), Perihelion (2016), and Apsis (2019) are all available on Rempis' Aerophonic Records label.  Despite the deep rapport they've cultivated in that context, this performance will be the pairing's first duo outing.   And although both of these musicians are capable of a high-octane burn, be sure keep an eye out for some patient and slow-evolving trajectories as well, with Ra's penchant for loping mid-tempo grooves always in play. </p>
