This July, PRS's 7th House Screenings sets out on their "US Tour," a series that examines the American condition through films that explore our nation's triumphs and failures and celebrate its rich array of cultures.

As part of their July series "US Tour," 7th House is very proud to welcome El Cine — the non-profit that provides free film education for the community through Latin-focused screenings and conversations — as they present an unforgettable night of film, conversation, and community, featuring Alex Rivera and Cristina Ibarra's stirring and vital docu-thriller THE INFILTRATORS (2019), followed by a panel discussion with artists and community organizers. El Cine's proceeds from the evening will be donated to <a href="https://www.chirla.org/" title="https://www.chirla.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA)</a>.For this very special evening, filmmakers Alex Rivera &amp; Cristina Ibarra will join us in person to introduce a screening of their multiple Sundance award-winning film that The Los Angeles Times called "An inventive hybrid of immigration drama and heist thriller." THE INFILTRATORS tells the true story of young immigrants who are detained by Border Patrol and thrown into a shadowy for-profit detention center—on purpose. Marco and Viri are members of the National Immigrant Youth Alliance, a group of radical DREAMers who are on a mission to stop unjust deportations. And the best place to stop deportations, they believe, is in detention. However, when Marco and Viri attempt a daring reverse ‘prison break,’ things don’t go according to plan. By weaving together documentary footage of the real infiltrators with re-enactments of the events inside the detention center, THE INFILTRATORS tells an incredible and thrilling true story in a genre-defying new cinematic language.
