Jules Leyhe & The Family Jules with Jefferson Bergey

The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

The Sound Room

This is quite a pairing! Jules Leyhe, one of the world’s foremost blues slide-guitar players teams up with vocalist and guitarist Jefferson Bergey alongside The Family Jules! Premier Guitar magazine called Leyhe “the best blues slide licks since Derek Trucks, maybe even Duane Allman.” Those might sound like some big boots, but this Oakland native not only fills them, he wears them out and has to order new ones. Leyhe has performed/ recorded alongside some of the industry’s heavyweights including Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan, Chris Cain, Charlie Musselwhite, Fantastic Negrito and Wyatt Flores.Jefferson Bergey, has a stellar voice and great guitar chops. For the last 13 years Oakland-based he has been zig-zagging through multiple genres of music and comedy. For this event, 2 friends team up with guitars in hand. It will be magical!
